Program Outline

Pilot Runway is an all-encompassing, competency based MPL (Multi-Crew Pilot License) program, covering Ab Initio flight school training, Type Rating, Base and Line training. It takes around 24 months (2 years) to complete, and once you graduate, you will proudly join Avion Express as a First Officer.

Below is an overview of the program curriculum.

ATPL Theory

Starting with theory, students will learn comprehensive aviation knowledge, including air law, aircraft systems, navigation techniques, meteorology, and operational procedures. Covering principles of flight, human factors, and emergency protocols, it prepares soon-to-be pilots for the theoretical aspects of commanding commercial aircraft.

CAA Theory Exams

During ATPL Theory, students are required to undergo an examination at the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority), the results of which determine their readiness for flight training.

Phase 1: Core Flying

During the practical part of the training, students will cover Visual Flights (VFR), including Night Visual Flight Rules (NVFR) on a single-engine piston aircraft, and Instrument Flights (IFR) on Flight and Navigation Procedures Trainer (FNPT).

Phase 2: Basic Training

Students are introduced to multi-crew operations and instrument flight.

Phase 3: Intermediate Training

Theoretical and practical Type Rating studies are conducted in both a classroom and on FNPT of a specific aircraft type (A320).

Phase 4: Advanced Training

Students continue expanding both theoretical and practical knowledge in classroom on type-specific FFS devices (A320), preparing to work in a multi-crew, airline-oriented environment.

Base Training

Aerodrome training involves practical aircraft type training that takes place in an actual aircraft at an airport. During these sessions, pilots complete at least 6 take-offs, landings, and a go-around.

Line Training

Line Flying Under Supervision (LIFUS) provides pilots hands-on experience in line flight operations. Crew members, under senior instructor supervision, perform duties from their qualified pilot’s seat learned in simulator training, focusing on normal operating procedures during commercial flights.
